Journals - Human Rights: Focus on Free and Hate Speech
The Right to Bear Arms
The Right to Bear Arms

In an effort to commemorate UN International Day of Human Rights, the Contemporary Issues through Videoconferencing class participated in our first Face to Faith videoconference.

Dr. Charles C. Haynes is the director of the Religious Freedom Center of the Newseum Institute in Washington, DC. and he was the guest speaker. Two other U.S. schools participated as well. We all discussed first amendment rights and the difference between hate speech and free speech. It was a eye-opening disucssion for all the school involved as the recent anti-bullying legislation in our states have impacted free speech.
