Journals - Kidney Transplant
CITVC has participated in several videoconferences hosted by
COSI, The Center of Science and Industry based in Columbus Ohio, who hosted this videoconference for several schools from The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

Suraj

We were able to ask questions to a transplant nephrologist  while he narrated the operation from the donor portion to the recipient stage. Students from the AP Biology and Anatomy and Physiology classes also attended this live videoconference.

"As someone who wants to go into the medical field, I thoroughly enjoyed this kidney transplant vc. I saw this operation right after finishing our chapter on the kidneys in my Anatomy and Physiology class, so this opportunity to witness a kidney transplant had more meaning to me."  -Suraj

This was an exceptional experience* for high school students interested
in medicine and surgery as future careers.

We used the following site for preparation:    http://www.kidney.org/atoz/content/kidneytransnewlease.cfm

*Due to COSI rules, we had to agree to not videotape, rebroadcast, take photos or reuse in an manner any portion of the Surgical Suite.
