Students Rebuild: Live from Haiti Videoconference
In January 2010, an earthquake hit Port-au-Prince, Haiti, devastating the city and surrounding region, killing an estimated 230,000 people, injuring 300,000 people and leaving over 1,000,000 homeless. Architecture for Humanity, the Bezos Family Foundation and Global Nomads Group partnered to create StudentsRebuild.org (can we link the site here), with a call to action to schools in America and across the globe to take action and be true global citizens.

CITVC answered the call! We participated in four videoconferences during the 2010-2011 school year, and
we have raised $300 for StudentsRebuild.org.

"I couldn't wait to videoconference with the Haiti students each time. They are so hopeful and so polite and so fun!"  - Tasnim

Global Nomads Group (GNG) hosted this 4-part videoconference series live from Haiti. CITVC was able to speak to their Haitian peers, whose school was destroyed by an earthquake. CITVC also joined the Students Rebuild Challenge to help the rebuild their schools and lives.
